Warning! Little to no content included
- GIP! Further proof that Barack Obama has amazing outreach skills - I am now sporting a BOO!Sox icon. Can NOT tell my father, as he is still mad I owned a Ford product 10 years ago.

- Astonishing Scarf of Rassilon from [info]crafty_tardis on LJ makes me wish I could knit. Imagine the villains Four could best with a weapon of that calibre! Whole Dalek armies taken out, and then the Time War might never have happened.

- [info]parrotfish linked the X-Files trailer on YouTube, and I squeed like it was 1999. It's been TOSed already dammit, but it'll be back.

- MLB Extra Innings purchased, thanks to extra shift at the second job. Hello, tons of baseball on my TV!

- The tourist/snowbird season is ending here, and I'm pretty thrilled to be dropping back down to a 50 hr workweek. For I am, at heart, a lazy girl, and look forward to indulging that nature. One more shift tonight at the restaurant, and I have two whole days off in a row. Napping is planned, with followup naps.

- Have the OH DAMN box of stuff packed for the upcoming hurricane season. Extra heavy this year with new MagLites and batteries of all cells. Packed and unliftable! All set!

- Am a little devastated the deli was out of Manhattan Espresso sodas this AM.

Lol Updating
Witness my complete failure to update in a regular fashion. Wow - a month? D-, self.

I'll just bring the random, then.

- [info]brownbetty has a great post here about the latest on the Jena Six. It should be read and spread far and wide.

- Loved Blink so much. Creepy and twisty and clever. Joining the Moffat fangirling now.

- Happy to see BBC-AM isn't gutting the Gay out of Torchwood. Still love my cheesy, cracky, pterodactyl in the office show.

- I have my first new pair of Converse in a decade. They have flames. Shoes met with a mixture of headshaking and snickering. All ya all can bite me. Chucks are classic! And it's not like you weren't well aware of my inability to dress myself. I've been wearing nothing but 501s since God invented the button-fly.

- My dog seems to have developed an interest in the new lady dog in the neighborhood. She's a pretty, young rottweiler. He's... a chihuahua. I don't see it working out the way he hopes.

- Rewatching my old World Series dvd, and the '68 chapter still gets me teary. I want it to be required viewing for all the newer Tigers' fans. See? This is how we do it - pull something fantastic outta nowhere when you've abandoned all hope. No, we're not going to the WS this October - Detroit only does that every two decades. Our ballclub is 106 years old and this is how we roll. Kick back, enjoy the *whole* season, and wait for 2026.

And be happy we're not still sporting the circa 1980 Away uniforms.

- Stevie Wonder has a new album in the works, hopefully released on his Mother's birthday in January, including covers of some of her favorites. What could be better than that?

He's always been able to hit my tiny bulletproof Romantic target dead on.

So I'll leave you with 'Uptight' mixed with the Clash.

Sunday morning comin' down
Last week was an insane week, and I'm glad it's done with. Have a feeling I'm not getting caught up reading my flist any time soon, though.

Fandom-wise, I got my Pops hooked on Dirty Jobs but good. Payback for getting me addicted to Band of Brothers. Can't wait until he gets to the Ostrich Farm episode.

Need the new Who right now! BBCAM is going to start running Torchwood in the fall, for the Yay. Too far away, but still rates a Yay.

Also trying to turn my old XF buddy on to Heroes. I figure Hiro will be the gateway drug for her - who can resist his Geeky Splendor? She's mid-season 2 of BSG right now, and I'm having a great time reliving my squee with her. She helped get me interested in Lost, and is a staunch Sayid FTW fangirl. Very cool to be sharing fanstuff with an old pal again. We were out of touch during a mutual Firefly infatuation, so we've got that to cover also.

In the personal department, I finally found a good chiropractor, got a thorough adjustment, and swear I'm taller now. Well, I feel taller, at least. And have a spine that no longer makes noises like rusty gate. So that's fully a Win.

I am stocked on the Hot Fudge of the Gods, thanks to my friend's trip home last week. There is nothing better on the planet than Sander's Milk Chocolate. Nothing.

And my big Blue Heron is back! Favorite yardbird, ever. He looks even more irritated by the cattle egrets that follow him around, and I didn't think that was possible. He's all ::sternface:: 'Get your own fish, lightweights!' But he is so very outnumbered. He's gonna lose this one. And he hates that.

Post built of Random
- Five straight hours of major FUBAR on the biggest jobs we're running/about to start? Is my karma really that bad?

- It's my first Wildfire Season. Smells like fall when I was a kid. Or Devil's Night. However, it's gotten alarmingly smoky outside in the last half hour. The news is saying it's all from Georgia, brought down here by the system off the coast. That's a bit Wow.

- Got one of those cat furniture treehouse things for the BobDammit RottenCat. Only took 10 minutes to put together, and has all sorts of levels, a dangly rope and a hiding house for her to launch sneak attacks from. She still stole my chair whenever possible, though.

- Can't seem to quit fiddling with my layout. Or cruising around [info]minty_peach, [info]resplandor and [info]refuted for new ones. And I really love my layout. But the tweaking is like crack. I guess the family OCD Fairy paid me a visit.

- I'm feeling a little hooked on Heroes lately. It's on the Get the Dvds List, because Hiro is entirely awesome.

- Neifi. Perez. Homered. !!!.

- Best wishes to Joel Zumaya with his surgery. A speedy recovery, no pain and a quick return to playing Guitar Hero.

Three day week-end
LJ - Please quit it with the weird errors & page-borking. I'm trying to get caught up with posts here.

The flist certainly ate Wheaties for breakfast. Back -> Back -> Back -> Back ->
And then more Back ->.

I myself am having wasabe & soy sauce almonds for breakfast. Beyond great. And they go well with coffee - but then, what doesn't?

Got my Strider from Sideshow - Time for another action figure migration. Always hard to decide who goes together on what shelf. Right now, I'm thinking between Connor MacLeod & Nightmares Buffy. Or possibly on the Johnny Cash - Kingdom Come - Fox Mulder shelf.

Dog holding a world-class grudge over the vet trip yesterday. So much attitude in such a tiny body. Apparently, I suck even more than the cat today. Must have been the temperature-taking.

I am unreasonably pleased with my new shop vac. Got rid of all the dust & cobwebs in the Florida porch like a champ. Of course, I'm dealing with Olympic-level web spinning spiders here, so they'll be back in a few days - still so much better than the broom.

Why don't they call 'em Florida rooms in Florida? Is it something we made up in the frozen north?

Last night's game? Ignoring it. Poor Nate.

Watching the developments with the pet food recalls on Itchmo with interest. Seems to be a fundamental potential for disaster with the FDA's handling of imported ingredients. While the deaths of companion animals may not strike the same chord with everyone, the fact that the tainted additives were allowed to enter the human food supply might. I haven't seen a definitive statement that this has been contained.

Have to go get a hard drive - my backup is failing. Like the arrayed HDs thing - lost a bunch of stuff when the last computer died. Hoping it's not much more complicated to install than a M/s config. Guess I'll be finding out.

Time for getting something accomplished - Hope LJ gets it together in the meantime.

/Random
- Missed the GranderSlam in yesterday's game. Stupid job.

- Who would buy a 2006 ALCS ring replica? FanDorks like myself, actually.

- The Limpala tinkering seems to have stalled at the front brakes. Parts, why you so hard to find? I need to drive that car in the worst way.

- I has new Doctor Who! Will I love Martha? Watching tonight, then I can go back to reading Who-related posts. Yay!

- I *hate* my cellphone with a fiery passion today. It needs a ban_set=pain in the ass option.

- The dog has finally adjusted to the homemade food routine - It was a rough few weeks for all of us. The cat? Good to go right off the bat, unfussy piglet that she is. Trying Natural Balance kibble for both, as soon as the feed place gets it in stock. Going grain-free has made a world of difference with the dog's itchiness.

- The sun is killing the paint on my truck. Please knock it off, I like the Pull Me Over Red very much. I don't want to find myself driving a pink vehicle one day, mmmmkay?

- Is it a bad thing that I look forward to a summer of Barry Bonds Controversy as he closes in on Hammerin' Hank's record?

- I liked last night's Lost. Maybe because Jack was unconscious for most of it. The Kate backstory was good with me. I find I'm liking Juliet more and more. Sun has a very well-developed Stink Eye. Needed more Sayid, Desmond & Benry.

- Eddie Izzard DVDs - on their way to me!

- OMG Game Postponed? Did it snow?

Y HALO THAR, ENTIRELY RANDOM THOUGHTS!
- It's unusually cold in Florida, and that's bringing the lols to a northern-born person like me. It's a little frost on the windshield, not three feet of snow. And an excuse to wear my Tigers sweatshirt.

- Spring training! Lakeland isn't much of a drive, and I am plotting a roadtrip with a made-of-fun friend. We just have to get time off from our mutual place of employment, and fill her Wrangler with gas.

- I've seen three bald eagles in the past week, but the old blue heron hasn't been around. New ladyfriend Y/N?

- Having a friend who's a massage therapist? Who also makes you dinner after saying 'Come by, and I'll see what I can do about your back'? Pretty much the best thing ever.

- My 2 year old pda seems to be throwing in the towel. It needs to hang tough until I get my tax refund. You can do it, little Axim!

- The 'Lost' dvds I got for Christmas are crack - watching the show in real time is a bit torturous. Also important - Desmond is hotsauce!

- Got Doctor Who dvds for Valentine's Day - ILU NINE ♥!

- Work is trying to be a soul-crusher today. It's an avalanche of badly timed oversights and events. Completely borked. Monday - Not afraid to *be* the stereotype.

- My dog looks cute in his sweater. Pissed as all hell, but v. v. cute.
